The Cote d’Ivoire international was again the hero for the Eagles and the England winger believes winning his strike could help revive their season

Wilfried Zaha’s late matchwinner against West Ham could be what Crystal Palace need to turn their season around, according to Andros Townsend.

The Eagles endured a difficult start to the season losing all seven of their opening fixtures and registered no goal.

But they have pick up four out of nine points in their last three games with the latest being the dramatic 2-2 draw against Slaven Bilic’s side at Selhurst Park on Saturday with Zaha netting a 97th minute winner.

And his teammate is hopeful such breathtaking performance could change their fortune this season.

“These last-minute goals can change seasons and hopefully that happens for us,” Townsend told Evening Standard.

“It gives everyone in the dressing room a lift and it gives the fans a lift. We go home with a point and more belief than we had before.

“We have seen a different Crystal Palace in the last three games.

"We played fantastically against Chelsea and got three points, we did not get the result we deserved against Newcastle and on Saturday got the minimum we deserved.

“You have seen the difference since the manager came in. We have got a good side and we need to build on that and hopefully you will see us go on a run.”
