Younes Belhanda scores as Galatasaray cruise past Sakaryaspor

The 28-year-old registered one of the goals that saw the Yellow-Reds breeze past Osman Ozdemir’s men

Younes Belhanda was on target in Galatasaray’s 3-0 thumping of Sakaryaspor at Sakarya Yeni Stadyumu in Wednesday’s friendly game.

The Morocco international played a crucial role last season as the Yellow-Reds secured the Turkish Super Lig title, featuring in 30 league games and scoring twice.

The midfielder continued with the form against the Tatangalar with his 21st-minute strike shortly after Mugdat Celik got the curtain raiser.

Sinan Gumus then sealed the victory in first-half additional time to help Fatih Terim’s men return to winning ways after back-to-back losses to PSV Eindhoven and Valencia.

New recruit and Nigeria forward Henry Onyekuru was on parade for the Turk Telekom Stadı outfit but failed to find the net.

Belhanda will be hoping to build on the form when Galatasaray face Club Africain in their next warm-up tie on Saturday.
