Yanga fighting to keep ten players whose contracts are nearing end

Yanga are in a heavy financial crisis and it is expected that they will lose some of their key players

Yanga plan to keep at least ten of their first team players who will be without contract at the end of the season.

Obrey Chirwa, Kelvin Yondani, Vincente Andrew are among those players together with Hassan Kessy, Juma Abdul, Nadir Haroub, Emmanuel Martin, Beno Kakolanya, Haji Mwinyi and Juma Mahadhi.

Speaking to Goal, Yanga’s Player Recruitment Chairperson, Hussein Nyika revealed that the group will end their contracts at the end of the season but the club wants to extend their contracts.

“We want to keep them all, we have started the early negotiations with some of them and will we know what their needs are” said Nyika.

Some of the players such as Chirwa, Kakolanya and Yondani are believed to be looking for a way out, while others are in demand from other premier league rivals.

In the last transfer window, Yanga lost their key midfielder Haruna Niyonzima who joined Simba and went to win his fourth title in row after managing three in a row when playing with Yanga.
