Wolverhampton Wanderers snap up John Kitolano from Norwegian side Odds Ballklubb

The Congolese-Norwegian starlet is the latest addition to the Molineux Stadium outfit after agreeing on a deal that keeps him at the club until 2021

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the signing of John Kitolano from Norwegian side Odds Ballklubb on a three-year deal.

The player, 18, made his professional debut at the age of 16 for the club and went on to make 10 appearances in the Eliteserien before his departure to the newly-promoted English Premier League side.

Kitolano is Wolves' sixth summer signing after deals for Leander Dendoncker, Raul Jiménez, Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio and Adama Traore but will feature for the club's U23s in the Premier League 2.

Club's sporting director Kevin Thelwell is delighted with the addition of the young defender.

“John is a young player who we have admired since he made his professional debut at the age of 16," Thelwell told club website.

“Since the club’s promotion to the Premier League, it will, therefore, be an even bigger task to bring young players through from the academy and into the first team.

“John is a player who we feel has that potential and I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the coming months.”

Wolves U23 open their 2018-19 league campaign against Reading at the Madjeski Stadium on Saturday.
