Why Clifford Alwanga is shining at Mathare United

Mathare United striker Clifford Alwanga has been one of the key performers for his side this season.

The forward has been on a fine form, scoring a total of ten goals, four less than Nzoia Sugar's Elvis Rupia. The ‘slum boy's assistant coach Salim Ali says the team has managed to come up with ways to make the player shine.

“Sometimes, it is about the environment you create for a player, that is what makes one perform better. We have managed to get a perfect combination that has enabled Alwanga to be a regular scorer, the chemistry is working and that is what has made people shine.”

Mathare has been in a good form this season, and are currently placed second on the log with thirty-two points, two behind defending champions Gor Mahia.
