It has now emerged that AFC Leopards was axed from Simba Day celebrations because they wanted to take a second-string side to Tanzania.
Ingwe had been invited for the annual event that will take place on August 8 in Dar es Salaam but on August 1, Simba announced that it would instead, play Ghana giants, Asante Kotoko.
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule had hinted that fringe players would be prioritized for the game and it appears this didn't go well with Simba.
"We have KPL and Shield matches and the club had decided to have those players who haven't played much this season feature in the game."
“Simba were not comfortable with that arrangement and they opted to invite Asante Kotoko," a source from the Den told Goal.
