The Flying Antelopes' gaffer believes the manner of approach deplored in Akure helped his team to get their second away win of the season

Enugu Rangers coach Gbenga Ogunbote has affirmed that his side’s latest away victory was not a fluke instead it was achieved because of their tactical approach in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 15 tie in Akure against Sunshine Stars.

The Flying Antelopes at the Akure township stadium continued their fine form in the league with a 2-1 victory against their hosts to maintain their stay at the top of the log in group A of the NPFL.

Ivorian import, Seka Pascal stole the show again, this time with two splendid goals scored in the 28th and 40th minutes which rendered the goal scored by Anthony Omaka for the Owena Whales on the half-hour mark largely inconsequential.

Speaking on the outcome against his former club, Ogunbote hailed his players for a job well done and also spared some thought for Sunshine Stars who he admitted also tried their best to at least get something from the home game.

“It was a good game and we showed that we deserved the win by our approach to the game. Our opponent also did their best to make an impact but to God be the glory that when they had opportunities, we were able to clear our lines. The work is still in progress and I am sure it will end in praise.” Ogunbote told the club media.

Rangers with the victory over Sunshine Stars, consolidate its first position on the group A log with 27 points from 12 matches closely followed by Enyimba who climbed to the second position with 24 points from 15 matches same as MFM on the third position.

The Flying Antelopes will next engage Lobi Stars on Wednesday in a re-scheduled encounter billed for Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
