‘We fought hard for it’ - Leicester City's Ndidi revels in Brighton draw

Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his delight with Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion in Saturday’s Premier League game.

The Foxes endured a difficult first half, conceding a 15-minute goal and were reduced to ten men after James Maddison received his second booking.

However, substitute Jamie Vardy converted a late penalty to ensure Claude Puel’s men leave the American Express Community Stadium with a point.

And the Nigeria international who started the game from the bench has praised his side's character.

“We will take this one because we fought hard for it, we could’ve asked for more but it was just the game,” Ndidi told LCFC TV.

“We were 1-0 down, we had to fight for it, we knew we couldn’t settle to lose the game but the 1-1 is okay for us.

“Everyone knew what they were doing, and we actually saw the game at that time, we needed to get one goal and that came.

“We tried to go for one more, it didn’t happen but it’s something we should learn from, from 1-0 down, it doesn’t mean the game is finished, we just need to keep going.

“If we’d have got in another one, everyone would’ve been happier than we are now, but there are positives, we just settle for it.”

Leicester take on Southampton in Tuesday’s League Cup fixture before their Premier League game with Watford on Saturday and the midfielder has called for good preparation ahead of the ties.

“This is really close and it keeps us focused, it isn’t just about the weekend and the next weekend also, it’s about putting in your mind that you have games in the week,” he continued.

“We have to train, rest and look forward to the next game.”
