Watford confirms Brice Dja Djedje’s departure to Lens

Watford have confirmed the departure of Brice Dja Djedje to French second-tier outfit, Lens on loan till the end of the season.

The Cote d'Ivoire international endured a torrid time at the Vicarage Road as he found first-team action difficult to come by.

The defender last featured for the Hertfordshire outfit in their FA Cup fourth-round exit against Millwall.

Djedje joined Watford from Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2016 and made just two appearances for the club.

The club announced the departure of the former Evian player on Friday.

“The Hornets can confirm that Brice Dja Djédjé has joined RC Lens on loan,” read a statement on the club website.

“The 27-year-old Ivorian right-back will remain with the French Ligue 2 outfit until the end of the season.”
