Ulinzi Stars have acquired the services of former Mathare United striker Elijah Mwanzia.
Mwanzia was released by the 'Slum Boys' alongside Derrick Onyango, Gilbert Osonga on Monday.
The 24-year-old forward is expected to walk into Ulinzi Stars senior squad right away and help sort out the striking department that has been firing blanks of late.
The forward is the second player to join Ulinzi Stars from the 2008 champions in recent times, after Elvis Nandwa who crossed over in 2013.
“We are happy to have him as one of the options. His prowess, especially as a super sub will definitely be crucial for us, and we also hope to benefit from the competition he will inject in the striking department,” Nyaudo told the club website.
The coach has also secured the services of defender Eugene Ochieng from Sony Sugar. Ochieng, an elder brother to goalkeeper Timothy Odhiambo, recently completed his military training and will be part of the team for the second leg.
“Eugene is here and has been training with us. His registration is through and we look forward to incorporating him into the team. Just like Mwanzia, he is also a quality signing and the fact he can play in multiple positions impresses me.”
Ulinzi are still in the market for a midfielder as Nyaudo seeks to tighten the loose ends in the June transfer window.
