Barca put off by €80m Milinkovic-Savic fee


Barcelona have been put off making an approach for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic by Lazio’s €80 million asking price, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Milinkovic-Savic is a midfielder in demand, with Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid all reportedly interest in the Serbia international.

Following Andres Iniesta’s departure, Barca are in the market for a new midfielder, but will not be pursuing their interest in Milinkovic-Savic.

Asensio will discuss Liverpool links after World Cup


Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio plans to sort out his club future after Spain's World Cup campaign, amid reported interest from Liverpool.

Asensio started the 2017-18 season strongly, scoring in both legs of the Supercopa de Espana triumph over Barcelona, but struggled to retain a place in Zinedine Zidane's star-studded side.

The 22-year-old signed a six-year contract, which reportedly includes a €700 million (£616m/$816m) buyout clause, at the Santiago Bernabeu last September, but has been linked with a close-season switch to Anfield.

No bids for Liverpool & Madrid target Alisson


Roma have yet to receive an offer for in-demand goalkeeper Alisson, claims Monchi, despite the Brazil international being heavily linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid .

It appeared as though a switch to Spain was on the cards at one stage, with James Pallotta suggesting that a €78 million (£69m/$91m) deal was close.

The Roma president has since claimed that he was joking and that those in the Italian capital have no intention of parting with a prized asset.

Fellaini sets date for announcement on future


Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini will reveal a decision over his future on Sunday, saying there is "no need to wait until the end of the World Cup".

The Belgium international will become a free agent on July 1 if it transpires that he has not signed a new contract at Old Trafford, and a move away from the club would bring his five-year stay in Manchester to an end.

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli said Fellaini could be a target for the Italian giants and the player did little to cool speculation over his next destination when speaking in Russia ahead of Belgium's Group G match against England on Thursday.

Manchester United have been offered Marco Verratti and cash by Paris Saint-Germain if the Red Devils agree to part with Paul Pogba, reports The Sun.

The Italy international had been tipped to sign a new lucrative contract with the Ligue 1 champions, but could now be on the move.

Pogba, meanwhile, has been linked with a summer switch away from Old Trafford after struggling to justify an £89 million ($118m) transfer fee.


Rooney close to D.C. United move


Wayne Rooney is set to join MLS side D.C. United on a two-year contract, Sky Sports says.

Rooney already has a visa and work permit, and is expected in the United States by the end of the week after United and Everton reached an agreement.

The striker will be ready to train with his new team-mates and start playing right away.


Southampton snap up Armstrong in £7m deal


Southampton have announced the signing of midfielder Stuart Armstrong, who has joined the Premier League club from Celtic.

Armstrong has signed a four-year deal at St Mary's, with the fee for the 26-year-old reported to be £7 million ($9m).

Roma have completed the signing of Javier Pastore from Paris Saint-Germain for €24.7 million (£21.7m/$28.2m).

The Argentina international had been looking for an escape from the French capital after being dropped to the bench for most of last season.

Abdou Diallo has become Borussia Dortmund's second-most expensive signing after his arrival from Mainz on a five-year contract was confirmed.

Dortmund are understood to have shelled out €28 million (£25m/$33m) to snare the centre-back, eclipsing their outlay for Henrikh Mkhitaryan but falling short of the €30m (£26m/$35m) spent on Andre Schurrle in 2016.

Diallo impressed in his solitary season for Mainz, making 30 appearances in all competitions following his arrival from Monaco for a reported fee of just €5m.

Phil Neville's son joins Man Utd


Phil Neville's son, Harvey, has joined Manchester United.

Harvey was previously with Valencia's youth team, with Neville Sr having worked there as assistant to his brother, Gary, but it has now been confirmed that he will continue his fledgling career with United.

Phil Neville made 386 appearances for the club during his playing days.

Liverpool have yet to receive a formal bid for striker Daniel Sturridge this summer.

The Reds value Sturridge at £15 million (€17m/$20m), but no club has yet submitted an offer for the England international; Sevilla and Fenerbahce have registered their interest, however.

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has refused to answer questions on his future, as he continues to be linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Inter Milan have signed Radja Nainggolan from Roma, the club have confirmed.

The Belgian midfielder moves to Inter after making 203 Serie A appearances for Roma, who he joined from Cagliari, initially on loan, in 2014.

Nainggolan will be reunited with coach Luciano Spalletti at San Siro – the pair previously worked together in the Italian capital – ahead of the Nerazzurri's return to the Champions League.
