Messi wants Pogba at Barcelona


Lionel Messi would like Barcelona to sign midfielder Paul Pogba from Manchester United, according to Calciomercato.

After missing out on Antoine Griezmann this summer, Barca have now turned their attentions to another Frenchman, with Pogba seen as an improvement on Paulinho in the centre of the park.

Pogba's arrival at Camp Nou would allow Philippe Coutinho to move out to the wing, providing additional support for Messi.


Real stunned by Ronaldo's Juve move


Real Madrid have been left shocked by Cristiano Ronaldo's decision to leave the European champions to join Juventus.

Goal can confirm the 33-year-old is close to completing a move to the Serie A side, having already reached an agreement over a four-year contract worth €30 million (£26.5m/$35m) per season.

Those at the Santiago Bernabeu have grown accustomed to the exit talk down the years, but have been left stunned by the decision of a talismanic figure to head for Italy during the current transfer window.

Real Madrid agree €40m Odriozola deal


Real Madrid have announced that they have agreed terms for the transfer of Real Sociedad and Spain youngster Alvaro Odriozola. 

Lopetegui has made the Spain international his first major signing at Madrid, in a deal estimated to be worth the full value of Odriozola's €40 million (£35.4m/$46.8m) release clause.

Buffon to be announced as a PSG player


Goal can confirm that Gianluigi Buffon has agreed a two-year deal with reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The Juventus legend will undergo medical exams on Friday, and will be presented as PSG's latest signing the following Monday.

Former World Cup winner Mario Kempes wants to manage Argentina if Jorge Sampaoli is sacked.

After a poor tournament, Sampaoli's position is in jeopardy despite having a contract until 2022. Kempes is the latest to put his name forward, following Diego Maradona's admission that he would manage the country for free.

Man Utd line up £12m Shaqiri


Manchester United are ready to swoop for Switzerland international attacker Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, The Sun reports.

Jose Mourinho is ready to pay £12 million ($16m) for the former Bayern Munich man, who has also been linked with Liverpool.

The Portuguese boss, however, is unhappy that certain members of his squad are pricing themselves out of moves away from Old Trafford.


Path cleared for City to sign Jorginho


Napoli have announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz from Real Betis after triggering his reported €30 million release clause.

With that deal done, and a suitable replacement on board, the path has been cleared for Jorginho to complete his protracted switch to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Paris Saint-Germain are determined to sign N'Golo Kante from Chelsea this summer, forcing the Blues to turn to Tanguy Ndombele to replace him,  Goal  understands.

Chelsea do not want to lose their star midfielder want more than £100 million ($132m) for him, but PSG could offer Adrien Rabiot as part of a deal to lower the price.

If Kante opts to return to his homeland, the London side will try to sign Lyon's rising star Ndombele after an impressive 2017-18 campaign.

Ronaldo has signed Juve contract - Moggi


Cristiano Ronaldo has already signed a contract and completed a medical with Juventus, according to the Serie A side's former CEO Luciano Moggi.

Talk of the Portuguese icon making a €100 million (£88m/$116m) move to Turin from Real Madrid is rapidly increasing, and Moggi says the deal is further on than most believe.

Brighton are set to battle Anderlecht and Genoa to the free signing of Paris Saint-Germain striker Samuel Essende,  Goal understands.

Pavard agrees Bayern switch


Bayern Munich have jumped ahead of Manchester United and Arsenal to sign Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart next year,  Kicker  reports.

The 22-year-old right-back has impressed at the World Cup with France and had a good season in the Bundesliga, attracting interest from abroad.

But Pavard has already agreed to join Bayern, who will pay €35 million (£30m/$41m) to land him, though he will spend another season at Stuttgart before moving to the Allianz Arena side in 2019.


Martinez in line for Spain job


Belgium manager Roberto Martinez is set to be interviewed by the Spanish football federation after the World Cup, according to the Sun .

The former Everton boss has guided Belgium to the quarter-finals and is on Spain's shortlist to become their next permanent manager after caretaker boss Fernando Hierro could only take La Roja to the last 16.

Luis Enrique, Michel and Quique Sanchez Flores are also in contention for the job following the departure of Julen Lopetegui just days before the start of the tournament.


Why Ronaldo wants Real Madrid exit


Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid because he does not feel he is loved any longer, Marca reports.

The club's decision to put a €100 million (£88m/117m) price tag on his head in January was sufficient to convince the 33-year-old that he is not valued at the Santiago Bernabeu as he once was.

Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for the Portugal star.


Bailly demands Man Utd talks


Eric Bailly wants to discuss his future at Manchester United before the new season begins, the Sun reports.

The defender would like to stay at Old Trafford, but is concerned about his standing at the club and wants to speak to manager Jose Mourinho about where he features in the club's plans.

Bailly started just 15 games last season for United and has two years left on his contract with the Red Devils.


Ronaldo to be offered bumper new deal


Real Madrid are set to make every effort in order to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu, according to the Daily Record .

The Ballon d'Or winner is reportedly wanted by Juventus and is willing to speak to the Turin side, but Madrid are ready to offer the Portuguese a bumper new deal in order to persuade him to stay.


Odriozola closing in on Madrid switch


Spain international defender Alvaro Odriozola is set to trade Real Sociedad for Real Madrid this summer as talks between the clubs heat up, AS reports.

The 22-year-old will make the jump for a fee of around €40 million (£35m/$47m), although the structure of the payments has yet to be defined.

Former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui, whose move to Real was announced prior to the World Cup and caused his sacking, handed the player his international debut. 


Conte finally set for Chelsea sack


Chelsea are finally ready to sack manager Antonio Conte and replace him with Maurizio Sarri, the Mirror states.

Speculation has hovered over the Italian's future for months and the Blues are only now ready to pull the trigger, days before pre-season training begins.

With their boss' position unclear, the London side have failed to make any significant headway yet in the transfer market.


Willian pushing for Barcelona move


Chelsea attacker Willian is pushing to complete a transfer to Barcelona,  Mundo Deportivo says.

The Brazil international has been linked with Manchester United this summer, but the player wants a switch to Camp Nou as he wants to team up with Lionel Messi.

While the Blues have put up an asking price of €80 million (£71m/$93m), Barca have refused to bow to that demand and want to see it lowered.


Agent backs Ronaldo & Higuain together


Cristiano Ronaldo's potential arrival at Juventus would be welcomed by Gonzalo Higuain, according to the striker's agent.

"It would be fantastic obviously, especially if he made a strike partnership with Gonzalo," Nicolas Higuain told  Sky Sport Italia.

Everton remain in pole position to sign Yerry Mina from Barcelona, but Lyon are hovering over the Colombia World Cup star too, according to television programme  L'Equipe du Soir .

The Ligue 1 giants have made signing a centre-back their priority this summer and have targeted the 23-year-old.

However, Everton's greater financial strength means that they remain firmly in place to sign the player.


Neymar & Mbappe could be perfect for Madrid


Neymar and Kylian Mbappe would be two big signings for Real Madrid, according to former Spain international Luis Garcia, who is actually hoping against the double swoop because of how strong it would make Los Blancos. 

"They could be [a perfect fit]. I hope not because then they will get a lot stronger," he said Wednesday.

Liverpool goalkeeper Lorus Karius will remain as the club's No.1 next season, despite two horrendous errors in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

The Mirror reports that the Reds have been priced out of the market for both Alisson and Jan Oblak and are happy to stick by the German as a result.

Derby boss Frank Lampard is pondering a move for Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer, according to the Mirror
