Man Utd, Chelsea & PSG pursue Asensio


Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are set to battle it out for Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, according to  El Gol Digital.

The Spain international is keen to stay at Santiago Bernabeu but wants assurances of his playing time from new Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui.

And should he not get the answer he wants from the former Spain boss then he could look to depart the Spanish capital.

Juve demand €80m for Pjanic


Juventus will demand at least €80 million (£70.4m/$92.6m) if Barcelona make an approach to sign Miralem Pjanic, claims Tuttosport.

Barcelona are scouring the market for a replacement for Andres Iniesta and Bosnian midfielder Pjanic is one of the names reportedly under consideration.

However, Juve don’t want to sell and will set the bar high for Pjanic, who could also be subject of interest from Real Madrid.


Torreira's €30m Arsenal transfer confirmed


Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has confirmed that Lucas Torreira has left the club to join Arsenal for €30 million (£26m/$35m).

The midfielder is currently in Russia as part of the Uruguay squad for the World Cup, and is expected to complete his transfer to the Emirates Stadium once the tournament has finished .

Torreira will join the Gunners after the World Cup, with Sampdoria chief Ferrero announcing the departure on Italian television, highlighting the excellent business the club had done by increasing his price tenfold.

Liverpool enter Grealish race


Liverpool have entered the race to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, according to The Sun.

Grealish, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham after impressing for Villa in the Championship in 2017-18.

However, with Spurs reportedly haggling over Villa's £40 million asking price, Liverpool are ready to step up their interest.


West Ham complete £7m Fabianski signing


West Ham have completed the signing of Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The former Arsenal stopper - who is currently at the World Cup with Poland - joins the Irons for a reported fee of £7 million (€8m/$9m).

He will replace Joe Hart at the London Stadium, with West Ham opting against making the England international's season-long loan deal a permanent one.

Maurizio Sarri wants to make Dries Mertens his first signing as Chelsea manager, according to the Daily Mirror

The former Napoli boss is closing in on a move to take over the Blues, and wants the 31-year-old to come to London along with him. 

Mertens scored 22 goals under Sarri last season, as Napoli finished runners-up to Juventus in Serie A. 


De Gea to be best-paid keeper


Manchester United are prepared to make David de Gea the best-paid goalkeeper in world football with an £18.4 million-a-year ($24m) deal, reports Marca .

The Spain international is poised to pen a new five-year deal at Old Trafford which will end renewed talk of interest from Real Madrid.


Arsenal & Spurs eye Brewster


Arsenal and Tottenham are the latest clubs to show an interest in signing teenage Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, according to The Sun.

The 18-year-old is closing in on signing a new deal with the Reds but is still seeking assurances of his playing time from Jurgen Klopp.

And the north London rivals join the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Monaco in monitoring the Under-17 World Cup top scorer.


Barcelona to wait for De Jong


Barcelona are increasingly resigned to waiting until 2019 to complete a deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 21-year-old is viewed as a long-term option for Barcelona and there had been suggestions the Spanish champions would look to conclude a deal this summer.

However, with Ajax reluctant to sell after already losing Justin Kluivert, and with De Jong having suffered ankle ligament damage earlier in the year, Barca are now likely to wait another 12 months before pressing ahead with a deal.


Wilshere announces Arsenal departure


Jack Wilshere has announced that he will leave Arsenal after 17 years, despite having agreed to sign a new contract on reduced terms.

In a message on Instagram, the 26-year-old confirmed that new manager Unai Emery had told him he wouldn't be guaranteed consistent playing time should he stay with the Gunners. 

Wilshere is set to become a free agent, with plenty of interest in the Premier League and Italy in the midfielder's services.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper is expected to replace Petr Cech as the Gunners starter next season.

Tottenham are leading a host of clubs hoping to land the 25-year-old, who only just signed a new contract at Selhurst Park last summer.

But Palace hope that a still-better contract worth £120,000 (€136,000/$158,000) a week will keep him away from a big-money move elsewhere.
