Tottenham team news: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Man City

Tottenham face Manchester City this weekend in a game that has importance for both sides.

Spurs need just three more wins to confirm qualification for the Champions League, while City blew an opportunity to win the Premier League last weekend, throwing away a 2-0 lead against Manchester United to lose 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium .

A win against Spurs would not see City confirmed as champions, but a victory and a defeat for United against West Brom would be enough.

Tottenham injuries

Toby Alderweireld is fit to play but he has yet to return to the squad, with rumours continuing to swirl over his future at Spurs.

The Belgian has yet to sign a contract extension, and has thus been linked with the likes of Manchester United and PSG.

Elsewhere, Kyle Walker-Peters has picked up a hamstring injury and is likely to be out of the squad, while Harry Winks also remains on the sidelines.

Tottenham suspensions

Tottenham have no players currently serving a ban.

Tottenham potential starting line-up

Spurs beat Stoke City 2-1 last weekend, with some light rotation employed by Mauricio Pochettino.

Eric Dier was given a rest against the Potters, with Victor Wanyama returning to the XI, while Danny Rose and Serge Aurier replaced Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier in the full-back positions respectively.

And it remains to be seen who will be deployed at full-back against City.

Pochettino fielded Trippier and Rose at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season, and Spurs were thumped 4-1. While Trippier has improved since then, the Spurs boss may prefer Aurier's pace, though his recklessness can become an issue. Davies is likely to start ahead of Rose, meanwhile.

Elsewhere, Harry Kane will lead the line, while Son Heung-Min, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen - who are all in excellent form - are set to support the England international.

Dier should return to the XI, while Mousa Dembele, who has been heavily linked with Juventus, is likely to play alongside him.

Man City team news

City have few injury concerns, despite a packed schedule that saw them face Liverpool in the Champions League in midweek.

Pep Guardiola's side were beaten 5-1 on aggregate, losing 3-0 at Anfield and 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, but they only have two major injury concerns.

John Stones is a major doubt for the encounter with an adductor strain, while Benjamin Mendy may be fit enough to return to the bench, after overcoming a serious ACL knee injury.
