The second leg semi-final matches of the FAM Cup were played on Friday, and two clubs have booked their places in the final match, as well as in the 2019 Premier League.

In late afternoon, Selangor United held Petaling Jaya Rangers to a 2-2 draw at the Sungai Besar Stadium, to win the tie 4-3 on aggregate. Yazid Zaini and Yusaini Hafiz opened the scoring for the hosts, in the 60th and 70th minutes respectively to give them a huge lead. However, Shreen Tambi pulled one back in the 83rd minute before Malaysia U-23 international Tommy Mawat Bada added the vistors' second in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, the Rangers could not find the winning goal in the remaining five minutes.

This is the Tony Fernandes-owned club's third straight appearance in the third tier knockout stages, and their third consecutive failure to reach the final and gain promotion.

Later that evening at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Terengganu City recorded a 1-0 win over MOF FC, to win the tie on the away-goal rule, after it ended 2-2 on aggregate. They were made to wait until the 79th minute for the winner, netted by Rahizi Rasib.

The two sides will now meet in the two-legged final, on yet to be determined dates.

United had earlier topped Group A of the third tier, while City had finished first in Group B. Barring any sudden changes to the competitions by the league organiser, the two clubs, as FAM Cup finalists, will replace Terengganu FC II who finished in last place this season in the second tier, and Kuantan FA, who folded midway through the season.
