The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form for Ea Lla Koto this season, but while Goal revealed Amakhosi's interest in the player in November 2016, Komphela was very cautious in his response.
Komphela said he had no idea where the reports came from, but he went further to say that the club will make announcements whenever new players are officially signed.
"I don't know where the story of Jantjie comes from, and it would be very wrong for me to say it now because you know we have process at Chiefs where if there's any announcements to be made, it would be official," Komphela told SABC Sport.
"And again, your comment would be a reflection on the kid and where he is. So, really, I don't have an idea of it," he said.
According to SABC Sport, Chiefs are expected to sign at least two more players before the January transfer window closes.
The Glamour Boys have already added three new faces to their current squad. Kabelo Mahlasela, Leonardo Castro and Siphelele Ntshangase have all joined joined Komphela's team from Bloemfontein Celtic, Mamelodi Sundowns and Baroka FC respectively.
Mahlasela though, will have to recover from a knee injury he suffered last Thursday before he can be considered for selection.
