The hosts hit the ground running early enough as they secured the lead through Fulutudili nine minutes into the contest.

Six minutes from half time, Banyana broke the resolve of their opponents as they found a breakthrough again when Jane scored her fifth goal of the tournament.

In the second half, Makhabane - who reached her 100th cap - celebrated the milestone with her 77th-minute strike to wrap up the win.

The result means the defending champions finished top of Group A with nine points, scoring 22 goals and conceding just one in three games.

South Africa will face either Eswatini or Zimbabwe in the semi-final at the Wolfson Stadium on Thursday.

Earlier at the Gelvandale Stadium, Linda Kasenda scored eight goals as Malawi thrashed Comoros 13-0 to step up their bid for a first semi-final appearance since 2011.
