A goal from forward Elli Asieche was enough to hand Sofapaka a 1-0 win and they will now face Kariobangi Sharks in the final

Sofapaka FC head coach John Baraza says AFC Leopards surprised his side with the kind of display they put up despite losing 1-0.

The two sides faced each other in the Shield Cup semis at Kasarani on Sunday, and a late Elly Asieche strike was just enough to eliminate the defending champions from the competition. Baraza was however, impressed with the way Ingwe played.

“Honestly I did not expect that kind of a game from Leopards, they played a good game; pressed well and created chances. It was not the game we had anticipated after seeing them play against Kariobangi Sharks. They gave us something different.

“Well, I am happy with my team, the players held out and scored when it mattered to enable us qualify for the finals. We want to represent the nation in the continent and that will make us do better in the finals,” Baraza told Goal.

Sofapaka will face Kariobangi Sharks in the finals.
