Sofapaka blame defence after GOtv Shield exit

Sofapaka crushed out of GOtv Shield after suffering a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.

Batoto ba Mungu came into the match as favourites but at the end of 90th minutes it was their opponents, who sailed through to the quarter-finals. In a post match interview, assistant coach John Baraza says the team's defense was not up to the task against Sharks.

"It was not our day at, first we created many chances that could have helped us kill the game earlier, unfortunately we could not take them. I cannot blame the goalkeeper, the problem was created by our defense, there was a problem and the pressure fell to our goalkeeper who had to come off his line to help.

"We will be working on that in our training sessions preparing for our next match, but we are disappointed with our result against Sharks."

Sofapaka will now face Muhoroni Youth in their next league outing this weekend.
