Sevilla v Liverpool: Visitors to continue goalscoring form with Champions League qualification at stake

Liverpool go into Tuesday's tussle with Sevilla knowing that victory will guarantee them a place in the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time since 2008/09.

The Reds are unbeaten in the competition so far this season, having collected eight points from their first four games in Group E, but an away trip against Eduardo Berizzo's men represents the toughest test that Jurgen Klopp's charges have faced thus far.

The men from Merseyside, however, will go into this match brimming with belief, for Liverpool have won each of their last four fixtures in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and conceding just once.

Victory here would not only ensure that Liverpool will reach the knockout stages, but it would guarantee the Reds of top spot in the section ahead of their final group game against Spartak Moscow on Merseyside next month; Betfair Sportsbook offer odds of 7/4 (2.75) that Liverpool beat the La Liga side, while the same firm go 12/5 (3.40) that the Reds retain top spot in the section with a point from this fixture.

Sevilla, though, are sure to provide stiff opposition as Berizzo's men have won four of their last five fixtures in all competitions, a sequence of results that includes a vital home victory against Spartak Moscow last month, which acted as revenge following a bruising 5-1 defeat at the hands of Spartak in the reverse fixture in Russia just two weeks earlier.

Furthermore, the hosts boast a hugely impressive pedigree in European competition, having won the Europa League in 2014, 2015 and 2016; Betfair Sportsbook go 31/20 (2.55) that Sevilla leapfrog Liverpool in Group E by coming out on top in this clash.

There is, most certainly, plenty of potential for a goal-laden clash when this rivalry is renewed; the team's shared the spoils in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Anfield back in September, while there have been goals at both ends in each of the last four fixtures that Sevilla have fulfilled in all competitions.

With that in mind, Betfair Sportsbook offer 4/7 (1.57) that both teams are on target when these teams meet, while the same firm go 8/11 (1.72) that there are at least three goals scored in the game; that particular play would have landed in each of Liverpool's last six fixtures - with the Reds scoring at least three goals in no fewer than five of those fixtures.

Sevilla have managed just one clean sheet in their last eight matches and the rampant Reds may well amongst the goals again during Tuesday's Champions League clash.

Klopp's men are in the groove at present and, as such, Betfair Sportsbook's 6/5 (2.20) quote for the men from Merseyside to score at least two goals in this game could represent excellent value for punters.
