Seri concern for Chelsea & Arsenal as Napoli talks confirmed

The battle for Jean Michael Seri continues, with the man being heavily linked with Chelsea and Arsenal revealed to be in transfer talks with Napoli.

The Nice midfielder has been attracting interest for some time, with the 26-year-old one of several players to have caught the eye for the Ligue 1 surprise package in 2016-17.

Seri was a regular again last season, racking up 41 appearances across all competitions, with his composure and battling qualities drawing plenty of admiring glances.

A switch to the Premier League has been mooted, but suitors in Serie A have also joined the chase and moved to the front of the queue.

Seri’s representative, Franklin Mala, told Radio Kiss Kiss when quizzed for an update on his client’s future: “We are in talks with Napoli and he’s tempted by the idea of wearing the jersey.

“He would really like to play for Napoli and Carlo Ancelotti could get the best out of his characteristics.”

Mala has previously admitted to there being “possibilities” for Seri in England – with the midfielder currently under contract at Nice until the summer of 2019.

Barcelona and Manchester United have also been linked with the Ivory Coast international in the past, with his holding qualities allowing those around him to flourish.

Napoli, though, are likely to push hard for a deal as they prepare to bid farewell to Jorginho.

The Italy international remains a target for Premier League champions Manchester City, although one bid from the Etihad Stadium has been knocked back and discussions regarding that deal appear to have reached stalemate.
