Sensational Salah wins fourth Champions League Player of the Week award

Following his terrific showing against AS Roma, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been rewarded, clinching the Uefa Champions League Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

The forward who has scored 43 goals in 47 matches across all competitions this term, saw off competition from Real Madrid left-back Marcelo to win the accolade for the second time this month, after his heroics against Manchester City in the quarter-final's reverse fixture at the Etihad won him the first.

Salah delivered a virtuoso performance in the 5-2 thumping of the Giallorossi, scoring two goals and laying another pair to strike partners Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to hand the Reds a massive first-leg advantage.

The 25-year-old who became the highest scoring African player [10] in a single Champions League season with his second of the evening at Anfield, accrued 92 percent of fans’ vote to earn the honour.

Also, the newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year is on the verge of more record-breaking feats which could continue on Saturday should he score against Stoke City. If he surpasses his current 31-goal haul in the English top-flight, he would become the highest goalscorer in a single Premier League season.
