Ahead of Sunday’s crucial tie, the Giduniro man is backing his side to shock the Nigerians before their fans

Rayon Sports’ Abdul Rwatubyaye believes his side can upset Enyimba in the second leg of their Caf Confederation Cup quarter-final clash at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

The Giduniro were forced to a 0-0 draw in Kigali in the first leg and must avoid a defeat to beat the People’s Elephants to the semi-finals.

And the player is optimistic they can replicate their impressive away win against Gor Mahia of Kenya when they take on the two-time Caf Champions League winners.

“Enyimba are one of the best clubs in Africa. We respect them but we will have to show that we are Rayon Sports, and can do better against big teams,” Rwatubyaye told CAFOnline.com.

“The squad is okay and everyone is looking sharp and wants to help the team. With such commitment, I believe we will survive in Aba.

“We are capable of beating any team having shown that in Kenya against Gor Mahia. We will do our best to win and progress to the last four.

“Our journey was very tough. Many of our fans gave us no chance to go through. But the draw away against USM Alger and the win over Gor Mahia really brought us back into contention.

“Being among the quarterfinalists is an indication that Rayon Sports is a good team and on the right track. I want to help Rayon Sports to reach semis finals and I’m looking forward to that. Enyimba cannot stand between my dream. We will give it our all.

“The Caf Confederation Cup is by far the biggest tournament that most of us (players of Rayon Sports) have played in. I believe it’s only the first of many bigger competitions to come for me and my colleagues.”
