Mohamed Salah’s scintillating form this season has seen him priced as bet365’s heavy 1/3 (1.33) favourite to be named PFA Player of the Year.
The Egyptian scored his 30th goal of the Premier League season in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, just hours after his place on the six-man shortlist was confirmed.
Salah now needs just two goals in his final four matches to break the record for most goals in a 38-game Premier League campaign, whilst beating the 42-game record of 34 is not out of the question.
The only other player in with a realistic shot of snatching the award away is Kevin De Bruyne, who is 9/4 (3.25) to win it for the first time.
De Bruyne has been the driving force of Manchester City’s historic campaign, which has seen them win the title at a canter thanks to the Belgian’s seven goals and league-leading 15 assists.
Recent performances have seen him fall out of the running, though, with the City man recording just one assist and no goals in his last six league matches whilst Salah has eight strikes and two assists in his last six.
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has 16 clean sheets this term and has made the fourth-most saves (106), but he is still out at 100/1 (101.0).
Finally, Leroy Sane’s nine goals and 12 assists have seen him be nominated in just his second season in the league, although bet365 price the German way out at 125/1 (126.0).
