Securing Champions League football is high on the agenda for many top-flight clubs but only four will be celebrating at the end of the season

Almost as compelling as the fight for the Premier League title is the battle to secure a top-four place and with the new season about to get underway, there are plenty of sides who have set their sights on Champions League football.

Defending English champions Manchester City and European champions Liverpool are both overwhelming favourites in 888Sport's market, with finishing outside the top four unthinkable for both clubs at present.

Latest odds

Pep Guardiola's team are priced at 1/50 (1.02) to secure their ninth consecutive top-four finish, while their rivals from Merseyside are available at 1/14 (1.07) .

There seems little doubt that these two clubs will be comfortably in the upper reaches of the table and there is quite a jump in the betting to the next side. Indeed, Tottenham are priced at 11/20 (1.55) .

That might seem a short price for a side with only five seasons of Champions League football in their history, but it is a testament to the strong unit that Mauricio Pochettino has built during his time in north London.

Chelsea and Arsenal odds-against

Next in the betting come Manchester United at evens (2.00) , while Chelsea are at 11/10 (2.10) . It is perhaps surprising to see the Blues so far behind Spurs, given the Stamford Bridge outfit finished above the north Londoners last season.

New manager Frank Lampard will hope to build on the positives from the previous campaign which saw Chelsea seal third place as well as claiming European silverware, although they must do so without Eden Hazard who was sold to Real Madrid in June.

Arsenal, who lost to the Blues in the Europa League final back in May, are offered at 5/4 (2.25) to claim their first top-four finish since 2016.

Toffees outsiders

Everton have been quietly building an impressive squad this summer, and the blue half of Merseyside may be optimistic of their side's chances for the forthcoming campaign.

European football should be well within the grasp of Marco Silva's men while punters can enjoy odds of 16/1 (17.00) for them to finish in the Champions League places for the first time since 2005.
