Plateau Queens booked their place in the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom girls’ national finals after seeing off Ugari by a solitary goal to grab the Nyanza regional title.

Margaret Atieno scored the lone goal for Nyando side in a tensed final staged Sunday at the Gusii Stadium in Kisii County.

Atieno sunk the hearts of Ugari supporters, just four minutes into the break when she rose high to head home a Beverline Achieng’s corner for the opener in the 41-minute.

Plateau Queens who got a lifeline after they were eliminated in the semi-final of Kisumu games only to be reinstated back after Bondo Ladies were disqualified for fielding ineligible players, stormed the final with a 4-1 win over Omobera Girls from Nyamira.

The national finals are set for March 2018 in Nairobi with the winner pocketing Sh1mn and a fully paid trip to London where they are set to dine with the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Wanyama is the tournament’s ambassador.
