PKNS FC have extended the contract of its head coach Datuk Rajagobal Krishnasamy, announced the club on Wednesday.

The Red Ants are evidently happy with their performance under the former Malaysia head coach in 2018, a season that has seen them reach the FA Cup and Malaysia semi-finals, and finish the Super League campaign in third place, their highest ever season finish in the Malaysian football pyramid.

A source close to PKNS revealed to Goal that the club have exercised its 1+1 year option in their contract with the AFF Championship-winning trainer, whom they had appointed before the 2018 season began. This means that Rajagobal's contract is set to run until the end of the 2019 season.

The source also revealed that PKNS have convinced 11 of their current squad members to stay on for next season, on top of signing four new players. Three of the four new additions have been signed from Kedah and Melaka United, while the remaining player is a Malaysia U-23 squad member.

All of them are Malaysian except for one. Although the names of the 15 players were revealed to Goal, the source declined to let their names be published, at least for the time being.

Last month, it was revealed to us that PKNS have chosen to remain in the top tier, while competing on a reduced budget.
