Mesut Ozil’s agent, Erkut Sogut, has refused to rule out the midfielder’s move to Fenerbahce after the expiration of his Arsenal contract.

The ex-Real Madrid star’s contract with the Gunners expires in 2021, and he has been tipped to join the Turkish giants in some media reports.

Ozil boasts of strong ties with Fenerbahce through his mother and a potential move had been hinted in the past.

With that in mind, the 31-year-old’s representative said - while the player is happy at the Emirates Stadium and remains a Gunner - a transfer cannot be ruled out.

“You never know in football. First of all, you can never predict the movement of players,” Sogut told Goal.

“I have said it before and I am saying it again that he [Ozil] is really happy where he is at Arsenal. He is still has a contract to go and there is no change.

“We will see what the future holds when the contract ends but for now, there is nothing I can say.”

Aside from being an intermediary, Sogut is also a teacher who lectures on the path to becoming successful as a football agent.

He was quizzed on the role of an agent with references to Ozil and Sead Kolasinac’s carjacking incident, where the duo were the victims of an attack by a gang of assailants on motorbikes.

“This is the other part which we do,” he continued.

“This will not be the first time such will happen but the most important thing is to work with the club to make the best out of it because the clubs obviously would want to help the players to have a secured life.

“So when things like this happen, you meet with the club and ask them how best these players can be made secure again and focus on football as soon as possible.”
