Olympique Marseille want Swansea target Wilfried Bony

Swansea could miss out on the capture of Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony due to the stiff competition for the Ivory Coast international's signature.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to the Liberty Stadium in recent weeks, but the English Premier League side now face stiff competition from the French top flight side, Olympique Marseille for the striker's services.

According to La Provence, informal talks have already taken place between the club and player through sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.

Swansea are believed to be sitting in pole position to lure him back to Wales but, with Marseille, Lille and Fenerbahce having been linked with, manager Paul Clement must accept a fight to get him.

Bony joined City in a deal reported to be worth £28 million in January 2015. And having struggled to assert himself in the Citizen’s starting XI, he was shipped out on loan to Stoke City last term.
