OFFICIAL: Free State Stars terminate Solinas' contract

Premier Soccer League (PSL) side  Free State Stars have parted ways with Giovanni Solinas, who could be heading to Orlando Pirates.

Bucs are currently looking for a permanent coach and as Goal had reported on Wednesday morning that the European tactician is most likely to be handed the job.

Last month, Floyd Mbele, the Pirates administrative manager, indicated that all the candidates worthy to take over from caretaker coach Augusto Palacios were engaged at the time.

Ea Lla Koto have since announced the departure of Solinas after they terminated his contract with the club and this made Solinas a firm favourite to take over the reins at the Soweto giants.

The club's general manager Rantsi Mokoena revealed that Solinas left the club because they did not share the same vision with regard to the approach for the remainder of the season.

"The mutual termination of the Head Coach's employment contract was based on the fact that the coach and the management of the team did not share the same vision with regard to the approach for the remainder of the season and the future and as a result both parties have decided to amicably terminate the relationship," Mokoena said.

The Stars official went on to announce that former Lamontville Golden Arrows trainer Serame Letsoaka had already replaced Solinas as the new head coach.

"Furthermore, the Club would like to announce the appointment of Serame Letsoaka as the new Head Coach for the remainder of the season, whom we believe will guide our Club to great success," he concluded.

Solinas had rejoined Stars in September 2016 - having left the club at the end of last season after helping the club reach the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, where they were knocked out by Pirates.
