NSL: Modern Coast Rangers' axe falls on seven players

The Congolese striker was acquired from Batoto ba Mungu two years ago and has been struggling to find space in first eleven

Former Sofapaka striker Rashid Benjamin Asuman is among seven players dropped by Modern Coast Rangers ahead of 2018 season.

Club secretary Ferdinand Ogot has confirmed that the decision was made after wide consultation with the club management.

The burly Congolese striker was acquired from Batoto ba Mungu on loan two years ago and has been struggling to find space in the first eleven.

Dropped alongside Benjamin are midfielders Abdul Maina, who was acquired as a free agent after a stint with Sofapaka . Other are strikers Abdala Mdeka, Ibrahim Wanga, defenders Naftali Orawo Amayo, Hamisi Mwichande and Kevin Owino.

Ogot said there will be changes in the technical bench which he pledged to reveal by the weekend. He further stated the club has decided to switch home matches from KPA Mbaraki to the upgraded Bomu ground in Changamwe.
