Ghana and former Aduana Stars goalkeeper Stephen Adams has completed a switch to Zambian giants Nkana FC as a free agent, the club have announced.

The 28-year-old parted ways with the Ghana Premier League champions last month following the expiration of his contract and has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend it with one additional year based on his performance.

Adams believes this is a new challenge in his career despite the fact that he has a pool of experience.

"My coming to Zambia is not solely because of money as some people want to put across. I still have a point to prove and Zambia is a fertile ground," Adams said.

"I achieved a lot with Aduana Stars. I won two league titles and a host of other cups so I'm grateful for the opportunity. It was because of Aduana that I got my national team call-up and went to the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

"I want the Nkana supporters to have patience with me and the other players since this season promises to be a wonderful one for the club. I'm here to compete as a team player and not to achieve individual laurels," he added.

Adams, unfortunately, will not be part of the Nkana squad that will play in the Caf Champions League since the club have already submitted their official squad. He can only join them if they progress to the group stage.
