Matano won the league cup competition with AFC Leopards last season before he was released by the club following a faulty start to the season.
But ‘The Lion’, is already set a target of snatching the trophy from The Den.
Matano was unveiled as Tusker’s new head of the technical bench on Tuesday.
“It's a challenge I'm excited by. It's a great opportunity to come back to a club I know well, and a club I've got a real affinity with, I couldn't turn that down.
“I am confident in this group of players and I know that they will deliver and play to their full potential.”
"Our immediate objective clearly is to start winning matches and ultimately finish as high as we possibly can in the league, we will also want to challenge for the GOtv Shield,” promised Matano.
But even as he salivates for a back-to-back success in the know out competition, Matano, who will be assisted by Charles Okere, will have to first steer a drowsy Tusker back to life in the league starting with his first match against Wazito on Wednesday.
Tusker, who are 15th on the log will take on the league newbies at the Camp Toyoyo.
