Namibia U20W 0-1 South Africa U20W: Shakira Jacobs powers Basetsana into semi-final

South Africa advanced to the semi-final of the 2019 Cosafa U20 Women's Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Namibia on Saturday.

After a 3­-0 win over Zimbabwe, Basetsana were aiming to keep up their fine run against the Gladiators at the Gelvandale Stadium.

Shahida Jacobs' strike 10 minutes into the encounter was all Simphiwe Dludlu's side required to gain the maximum points.

The win takes the hosts to the top of Group A with six points from two games and earns them passage to the knockout stage.
 
Despite being through already, South Africa will hope to end their Group Stage campaign on a high when they take on Mozambique on Monday.

In the other result, Zimbabwe kept their qualification hopes alive with a 4-0 triumph over Mozambique at the same venue on Saturday.

After two games in Group A, South Africa are top with six points followed by Zimbabwe - tied with Namibia on three points but lead on goal difference - while pointless Mozambique are at the bottom.
