Nakumatt FC coach Mellis Medo says his team did not play according to plan despite winning 2-0 against Ushuru on Sunday.
The shoppers won the first leg of the promotion/relegation play-off by a solitary goal and needed a draw or a win of any margin to maintain their status in the Kenyan Premier League. However, the coach says it was not an easy task to win especially from the taxmen.
“Yes we have won, I am happy that we have managed to get what we needed to remain in the KPL. My boys were however nervous and that affected our play in a big way; we did not play according to plan; it could have been easier for us but we got it right.
“We now need to prepare better for the season and ensure we do not find ourselves in the same situation next season.”
In 2017, the Ken Kenyatta led side fell to Thika United by a 2-1 aggregate defeat in the play-offs.
