Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has set himself a six-month target to adapt to English football by learning the language.

The midfielder joined the Premier League side from RB Leipzig in July, a year after a deal of £52.75 million was agreed on for his transfer.

The 23-year-old who is currently sidelined owing to a hamstring injury has not followed up with his impressive start on Merseyside which has seen his playing chances limited.

However, the former Salzburg player has disclosed that he has been working to learn the language so as to enable him to have a better communication with his boss Jurgen Klopp and his teammates.

"I am following a course, I am really motivated to speak English, it is really important for me," Keita told Sky Sports.

"I want to be able to speak to the coach, I want to speak to the other players on the team and I am really working hard.

"I am hoping in six months I will be able to do these interviews in English.
