Modern Coast Rangers is set to hold a one week pre-season trials starting from January 8, 2018, at the club’s Changamwe Refinery ground.

Club secretary Ferdinand Ogot has confirmed that as a departure from the past, the club plans to recruit only four players to boost the squad ahead of the 2018 season.

“We don’t intend to have mass recruitment this time. We only plan to sign four players notably two defenders and two strikers. These will serve as a replacement for players who are bound to move to other clubs.

“I therefore appeal to those interested players to turn out in large numbers for the trials and try their luck. Playing big time soccer in second tier National Super League should be the envy of any ambitious player.”

Ogot further disclosed that the club has released seven players who will be named in due course. The trials will be conducted by the club’s technical bench under head coach Mohammed Ahmed.

Modern Coast Rangers finished the NSL season on 11th position with 41 points from 36 matches and almost half of points acquired by eventual winners Vihiga United.
