MLS on Facebook Live: Univision announces deal to broadcast matches in English

Major League Soccer games will broadcast a full slate of regular season games on Facebook.

MLS and Univision Deportes announced Friday a collaboration to live stream at least 22 matches in English on the social network site.

As part of the deal, MLS will also drive further social engagement with fans and produce more unique digital content, according to a release.

“We are committed to serving our passionate fans,” Gary Stevenson,the MLS Business Ventures president, said in a statement.

“We are working with all of our partners on making sure our games, and additional content, get to our fans anytime, anywhere, and on any device.”

The first MLS match to be live streamed on Facebook will be Atlanta United against the Chicago Fire on March 18.
