While transfer rumors swirl, El Principito will be in European competition should he stay with Real Betis next season

There is a clear King of Spain among Mexicans playing in the country this season.

Andres Guardado has been a key part of Quique Setien's Real Betis team this season, and this weekend was no different with "El Principito" going the full 90 minutes and setting up the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Malaga on Monday. The win marked the eighth consecutive match without defeat for Los Verdiblancos and locked up Europa League qualification for next season,

Across town, Miguel Layun came on for Sevilla, but it was in a 2-1 defeat to Levante. Sevilla now has gone nine consecutive matches without a win, and their own chances of European competition are slipping away.

At least those Mexican players got into the picture. Hector Moreno has frequently played a part for Real Sociedad since joining in the winter but wasn't in the squad for the club in the Basque derby against Athletic. Sociedad was able to win 3-1 without the center back.

In Belgium, the Champions League playoffs continue. Guillermo Ochoa made a penalty save against Gent when the score was 2-1 and Standard eventually came away with a 3-1 win. While Brugge continues to roll toward the title, it appears that the Champions League is a real possibility for Ochoa's club.

Hirving Lozano had a bittersweet day for PSV, scoring in a 3-3 draw with Den Haag on Sunday but also coming out with an apparent shoulder injury. Members of the Mexican press reported it's nothing serious and "Chucky" should be back in action as soon as PSV's next league match Sunday.

El Tri will be thankful it wasn't as serious as the shoulder issue Carlos Salcedo suffered, but the Frankfurt center back was back in training Tuesday for the first time since his March surgery.
