Kylian Mbappe scored one and made another in his latest Paris Saint-Germain appearance to extend his remarkable record as Europe’s top U-20 talent.
An initial loan move is set to cost the Ligue 1 giants €180 million next summer, but they will consider that to be money well spent.
Mbappe is already being billed as a potential Ballon d’Or winner and his achievements since the start of 2016-17 suggest that he is well on course to reach the top of the global game.
34 - @KMbappe has been involved in 34 goals in Ligue 1 since 2016/17 (21 goals, 13 assists), at least 20 more than any other U20 player from the top 5 leagues in the same period. Fantastic. pic.twitter.com/v1c1ORFMI9 — OptaJean (@OptaJean) December 9, 2017
Mbappe netted 26 times across all competitions for Monaco last season.
He has added another 10 efforts to that tally with PSG this term, while also creating plenty of opportunities for others.
Those qualities were on full display against Lille on Saturday, as Unai Emery’s side cemented their standing at the top of Ligue 1.
With Mbappe in this kind of form, even the likes of highly-rated Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic can get nowhere near the numbers he is posting.
