SuperSport United signed Mandla Masango on loan deal from Danish club Randers during the January transfer window.

While Masango has faced stern competition in the SuperSport line-up which has seen his game time limited, he has been enjoying life back in South Africa after a torrid time abroad.

However, with the 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign now at an end, questions have been raised about the future of the 27-year-old. But with Matsatsantsa’s chief executive officer Stanley Matthews' latest pronouncements, a return to Denmark could be unlikely. The Tshwane-based outfit have expressed their interest in securing Masango’s services on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Masango has one year still remaining on his contract with The Horses, meaning that SuperSport will need to negotiate a transfer fee for the former Kaizer Chiefs’ attacker.

"We can't decide to keep him. We have to talk to his club, which we will do after the Nedbank Cup final,” Matthews told The Sowetan.

"We would like to keep him but it's all finance dependent," Matthews concluded.
