Roy Okal scored his maiden goal in Mathare United shirt this season in a 1-1 draw with Zoo on Sunday.
Okal now says that the arrival of Francis Omondi at the 'Slum Boys' has brought the best out of him.
Okal lobbed the ball over Martin Elung’at to hand the 'Slum Boys' the lead in the 28th minute before Zoo skipper Johnston Ligare equalized for the hosts shortly after the restart.
But despite seeing reduced activities since the arrival of Omondi in January, which has restricted him to only a fifth-start this season, Okal admitted that stiff competition from Omondi has helped him add another dimension to his game.
“Francis is a good player and the competition between us is always tight. He has pushed me to change my game and I have really improved in terms of attack.
"We always look to learn from each other in training,” Okal told mathareunitedfc.co.ke .
A dead ball specialist, Omondi has scored six goals in his first season in the top flight.
