The retired Jamaican sprinter, 31, explained that he has had discussions with former United boss Alex Ferguson and says that he also stays in touch with Red Devils star Paul Pogba.

Manchester United have activated a 12-month extension clause in Luke Shaw's contract, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The England international left-back was due to see his current deal expire in the summer, but will now be tied to the Red Devils until 2019.

Speculation had suggested that the 22-year-old was heading towards the exits at Old Trafford, with United eyeing Danny Rose, Ryan Sessegnon and Kieran Tierney as possible replacements, but he has played his way back into favour.
