Manchester United have revealed their squad numbers for the 2018-19 season, with Marcos Rojo moving from No.5 to No.16.
Summer signing from Porto Diogo Dalot takes the No.20 shirt, while, as previously confirmed, Marcus Rashford has taken the No.10 previously worn by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney .
Matteo Darmian was originally absent from the list despite the defender having been included in the promotional banner showing off the new squad numbers.
It has not been confirmed, however, that he will retain the No.36 shirt despite speculation he is set to leave Old Trafford.
The Italian full-back has been strongly linked with a return to Serie A in the summer transfer window although it is expected he will be included in the matchday squad to face Leicester City on Friday night .
Rojo, who previously wore the No.5 shirt at Old Trafford, has switched to No.16, a number he has used frequently with Argentina, including at the 2018 World Cup.
The defender had been lined up as a summer transfer target for Everton , but he remains at Old Trafford with the Toffees having completed a switch for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina instead.
With Rojo's change, the No.5 shirt is left vacant with Jose Mourinho ultimately left frustrated in terms of the club's attempts to bring in a centre-back on deadline day.
The likes of Harry Magure, Toby Alderweireld and Diego Godin were all linked with moves to the Red Devils but, as Mourinho forecast at the start of deadline day for English clubs, no new signings were made .
