The Portuguese has completed a big-money move to Turin from Real Madrid, with it revealed that no other teams put an offer to him this summer

Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother has echoed comments from her son regarding summer offers, with Manchester United having made no attempt to bring him back for a second spell.

The Portuguese has  completed a stunning €100 million (£88m/$117m) switch to Juventus after deciding to bring a nine-year stint at Real Madrid to a close.

When speculation regarding a summer move first surfaced, it was expected that the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and his former employers at Old Trafford would lead the chase for the 33-year-old.

Around that time, Maria Dolores Aveiro told  SFR Sport  that she would  prefer to see Ronaldo head back to England .

She has, however, accepted that an emotional return to England was never on the cards, with a five-time Ballon d’Or winner making the best decision available to him when opting for a fresh start in Italy.

“It was not possible to return to Manchester, but we´ll support him,” Aveiro told reporters after Ronaldo’s official unveiling in Turin.

“It is a new stage in his life and I believe he is happy, as are all the family.”

Ronaldo has signed a four-year contract with Juventus taking him through to 2022.

He has previously expressed a desire to play into his 40s, but whether that is at the highest level in Europe remains to be seen.

For now, Ronaldo is looking forward to getting started with Juve, with the Bianconeri the only club to have put an offer to him this summer .

He said at his presentation on trading Madrid for Turin : "I'm not sad about leaving Real Madrid, this is a big club and with all due respect players at this stage of my career usually go to Qatar or China, so I'm grateful to Juventus for allowing me to join such a big club."
