Man Utd and Liverpool target Malcom 'chilled out' amid mounting transfer talk

EXCLUSIVE

Bordeaux forward Malcom says he will only address talk of interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City if a formal approach is made.

For now, the Brazil U23 international says he is “chilled out” amid mounting transfer gossip.

The 20-year-old only arrived in European football last summer, having completed a switch to France from Corinthians in his homeland.

He has settled quickly in new surroundings and done enough to attract admiring glances from leading clubs in the Premier League.

Malcom is flattered to be generating such talk, but admits the issue of his future is a moot point while the transfer window is closed and there is little to back up the speculation.

He told Goal: “I'm very chilled out. I'm only thinking about Bordeaux. I have contract until 2020, this is a matter for my family and Fernando Garcia [his agent]. I'm very focused on what I want, on the work I'm doing.

“I don't know how it would be if this chance appears. For now I'm focused on doing a great job here this season.”

Malcom is prepared, however, to look a little further afield when it comes to his international ambitions.

Neymar: Ballon d'Or can wait

With Brazil expected to be major challengers at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the diminutive frontman is hoping to do enough to force his way into contention for a squad berth.

He added: “I will work for this. I'll wait for Tite to look at me in a different way so, who knows, I might have an opportunity with the Selecao.

“Work and dedication will always be present to reach this main goal. And if I'm not on the list in the end, I’ll just keep going with my work thinking that one day my time will come.”
