Manchester City travel back to London to face Chelsea on Wednesday night having won just one of their five matches against the Premier League's top seven this season.

Liverpool fear worst for Mane injury

City drew 2-2 at Arsenal on Sunday, the first time they have picked up points on the road to England's top sides since beating Manchester United back in September.

Pep Guardiola's side have lost at Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton in between those two results, and they will be wary of that run when they travel to the champions elect.

Chelsea themselves will be coming into the match on the back of a shock home defeat at the weekend.

Jesus Navas played at right-back for City at the Emirates Stadium as Bacary Sagna was injured and Pablo Zabaleta was not fit enough to play 90 minutes.

Zabaleta did come off the bench late on, however, and will be ready to make a start at Stamford Bridge. Sagna is out for two-three weeks.

Raheem Sterling was taken off at half-time on Sunday, but although he had been struggling with an injury in the build-up to the Arsenal match Guardiola insisted the winger was substituted for tactical reasons.

Vincent Kompany is fit and was named on the bench on Sunday but it is anybody's guess whether Guardiola will put his trust in him to start a match, although it would appear unlikely.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus is off his crutches and was back at City's training ground on Monday as he steps up his recovery from a broken bone in his foot, but will not be back in contention for at least another two-three weeks. Ilkay Gundogan is continuing his rehabilitaton from a cruciate knee ligament injury which will keep him out for the season.

Neither team have any suspensions to worry about.

Zabaleta could come back in at right-back, with Aleksandar Kolarov also pushing to get back into the side after Nicolas Otamendi endured an up-and-down performance at Arsenal. Kolarov is better at playing the ball out from the back, though Guardiola may decide to stick with Otamendi, who is better suited to an aerial battle with Diego Costa.

Yaya Toure has been in and out of the starting line-up in recent weeks, and is usually left out - or caught out - in the more fast-paced matches, which means Fernandinho could continue in the side. The rest of the midfield and attack picks itself by this point.

Chelsea suffered a shock defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend and although City failed to beat Arsenal and put on a bit of pressure at the top of the table, Antonio Conte's men will be desperate to get back to winning ways, not least to keep second-placed Tottenham at bay.

Guardiola says Chelsea and Spurs are the only two Premier League teams that play in a way similar to his positional play model, and although Conte's men lost at the weekend they, like City on many occasions this season, created enough chances to win the match.

They seemingly only have one injury concern, too, with right wing-back Victor Moses struggling with a calf injury. Pedro replaced him against Palace at the weekend.

That game was only the first time Chelsea have lost in just under three months, when they went down 2-0 at Tottenham.

It was also the first time Chelsea have lost at home since Conte switched to a back-three earlier in the season.
