One man who won't be involved in the US is new signing Bernardo Silva, who has been allowed extra time off following his involvement in the Confederations Cup with Portugal.

Here is your complete guide to the fixtures awaiting City during pre-season.

City play three friendlies in the International Champions Cup, which features a number of big clubs and will take place across several American cities, and one back in Europe.

Guardiola first took his squad to Houston, Texas for a Manchester derby against United at NRG Stadium, where Jose Mourinho's side triumphed 2-0 .

After playing United, they then took a three-hour flight out to Los Angeles, California, where they completely destroyed Real Madrid 4-1 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Danilo made his debut for the club, while Mendy was an unused substitute.

From there, City flew four hours back to the east to Nashville, Tennessee, where they closed their ICC participation against Tottenham at Nissan Stadium. It was a happy finale for Guardiola's men, who continued their good form with a 3-0 victory .

City then returned to Europe for their annual 'Super Match'. That will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland this year on August 4, and is against Premier League opposition in West Ham.

City have no Community Shield or early European commitments so their first competitive game of the season will be in the Premier League, away to Brighton. It will be a televised game on the evening of Saturday, August 12, with a kick-off set for 17:30.

With the West Ham match acting as a bridge between the ICC and the start of the league campaign, then, City's pre-season schedule may well be complete. They only played four friendlies during Guardiola's first summer in charge.

Guardiola's men secured direct qualification for the Champions League group stage, so their continental action will not begin until September.
