Man City beware! Sensational Mbappe makes more Ligue 1 history

The Monaco starlet netted twice against Nantes to become the youngest player in 30 years to score 10 goals in the French top flight

Kylian Mbappe has continued to cement his reputation as the hottest young prospect in Europe with another sensational performance for Monaco.

The teenage Frenchman netted twice — with Bernardo Silva the creator on both occasions — to help Leonardo Jardim's team into a 3-0 lead at half-time against Nantes.

The new Sheva? Belotti's incredible hat-trick

Mbappe first capitalised on a fortunate deflection after Silva's superb run to give Monaco the lead, steering in a shot from a difficult height on the volley.

After Valere Germain had doubled the advantage, Mbappe struck again following an almost identical run from Silva through the inside-right channel.

This time, Silva won the ball himself before skipping past two opponents and landing a perfect cross on the head of Mbappe, who flicked it past the stranded goalkeeper.

The double takes Mbappe to 10 goals in his career in Ligue 1 and, at 18 years and two months, makes him the youngest player to reach that milestone in the last 30 years in the French top flight.

He will hope to be back on the scoresheet in 10 days' time when Monaco take on Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

City hold a 5-3 aggregate lead after an enthralling match at the Etihad Stadium, in which Mbappe scored Monaco's second goal, but face a stern test defending that advantage back in the principality.

Jardim's men have now scored over 80 goals in the league alone this season and have only failed to net two at home in any competition once since September.
