Although de Boer's men look set for another defeat on the road, Al Hain-Cole is backing them to find the net against the Black and Gold on Friday

Los Angeles FC will be determined to bounce back from derby defeat when they welcome Atlanta United to the Banc of California Stadium in Friday’s MLS clash.

Bob Bradley’s men are well ahead in the race for the Supporters’ Shield but went down 3-2 against local rivals Los Angeles Galaxy last weekend.

Latest odds

Having taken 25 points from a possible 27 on home turf this season, they are 42/100 (1.42) favourites with William Hill to get back on track with a big win against the reigning champions.

The Five Stripes ran out 5-0 winners in the only previous meeting between the sides, and are available at 5/1 (6.00) to come out on top once again, or 4/1 (5.00) to claim a draw.

Team news

Alejandro Guido and Danilo Silva will face late fitness tests as they struggle with quad and hamstring strains respectively, although Javier Perez is definitely out for the season after tearing his ACL.

George Bello, Florentin Pogba Hector Villalba, Brek Shea, Kevin Kratz and Ezequiel Barco are all out, while Mikey Ambrose is doubtful due to a minor injury.

Preview

Although currently second in the Eastern Conference, Frank de Boer’s men would be in a far stronger position if their away form matched their performances at home.

Having dropped just two points from their last nine games in front of their own fans, they have lost eight out of 10 league fixtures on the road this campaign – including each of the most recent five.

While it is therefore difficult to see Atlanta leaving California with any points, they should fancy their chances of getting on target.

The Black and Gold have only kept one clean sheet in 11 games, failing to do so in any of the last seven in succession.

Predictions

All in all, odds of 7/5 (2.40) appear generous on LAFC emerging victorious despite conceding against an Atlanta side that has only failed to score once in 21 matches.
